Here’s an amusing #MJMondays clip of two of the best trash-talkers of all-time: Michael Jordan and Sam Cassell. After Sam fouled the Goat on a double-team, Jordan laughed and put his huge hand on Cassell’s bigger head. If this happened today, the refs would probably call a tech on Cassell and eject Jordan.
The 38-year old Jordan would end up scoring 31 points, giving him his 4th 30+ point performance in just 8 games since coming out of retirement (again). Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough as Cassell scored a team-high 27 (20 in the first half) and a young Ray Allen went off for 19 of his 22 in the second half to give the Bucks a win.
A bigger issue than the Wizards defense was the young Wizards neglecting Jordan on offense for a span of five minutes and 41 seconds in the second quarter.
“The first quarter I started getting into a rhythm,” Jordan said. “And I think they forgot about me a little in the second quarter.”
The Wizards started off this season losing 9 out of 11 games with an 8 game losing streak. They did heat up after the streak by winning 12 of their next 14 games with a 9 game win streak.
