Former NBA player Tim Perry turns 50 today. 50, a number he never saw during the 3 times he participated in the NBA dunk contest.  Now, don’t think this is a diss post because it’s actually me complimenting the former 7th pick of the 88 draft by pointing out he was a guy who was willing to do the dunk contest year after year when he didn’t have a shot at winning.  He actually did quite horrible in 2 of the 3 contests but he kept coming back.

Why? Maybe he loved dunking or maybe he just wanted a free trip to All-Star weekend. Regardless of why, I’m still wishing the man who Charles Barkley once said was traded from Phoenix just so Barkley could have #34, a happy 50th birthday.

Now let’s look back at his dunk contest performances.

1989: Finished 5th

1993: Finished Last

1995: Finished 2nd To Last
