I know you are getting tired of me pointing out Vince Carter’s age and I’m tired of writing “40-year old” before his name but the man is double the age of a lot of guys in the NBA and is still doing things most guys in the league can’t do.
Earlier in the week, Vince had a perfect game with 24 points on 8 of 8 shooting in just 22 minutes. The historic performance made him the first 40-year old NBA player with six threes in a game. The season-high performance also made him just the sixth player in NBA history to score over 20 — Kareem, Michael Jordan, John Stockton, Karl Malone and Robert Parish were the other five.
Over the past few days we have been seeing practice footage of Carter making half-court jumpers and throwing down reverse dunks like nothing. Then on Saturday, the Grizzlies released some footage of Carter knocking down a half-court shot on his first try then just casually throwing down a 1-hand reverse 360.
Later that night, Carter scored 10 points, grabbed 4 boards, dished out 3 assists and had 2 steals in a 104-96 victory over the Spurs. He also had a couple of impressive highlights and yes, he is 40-years old.
