On this day in history, June 1st of 2006, Dirk Nowitzki outscored the entire Suns team 22-20 in the fourth quarter to lead the Mavs to a a GM5 win in the 2006 Western Conference Finals.

The 50 point franchise record performance by Dirk was a huge bounce back one after making just 3 of 13 shots in GM4

“He was disappointed with the last game,” Mavericks coach Avery Johnson said. “I’m not going to tell you everything that went on behind the scenes. But we were all disappointed.”
