Before we get into the exciting first day of the Orlando Summer League we have to give a shout out to Pierre Jackson, who injured his right Achilles just 7 minutes into the 76ers game vs the Magic, and wish him a speedy recovery.

The other high and lowlights of the day were…

  • Nerlens Noel’s debut with 19 point, 4 steals, 2 rebounds and 1 block in 26 minutes
  • Aaron Gordon missed 8 of his 11 shots and had 4 turnovers but had 1 monster rejection
  • Shabazz Napier missed his first 10 shots (3-15 for the game) and had 8 turnovers
  • Marcus Smart scored 10 points but missed 6 of his 8 shots
  • 2nd round pick of the Rockets (and 2011 Ballislife All-American) Nick Johnson had the dunk of the night with a nasty poster on Tim Ohlbrecht
  • Jordan Adams scored 22 points and hit 4 of 6 from downtown
  • Mason Plumlee scored 23 points on 8 of 11 shooting and also grabbed 7 rebounds
  • Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 26 points and also had 6 steals
  • Peyton Siva dished out 6 assists to go with 16 points
  • Kelly Olynyk was dominant with 20 points and 8 rebounds
