Before Saturday’s game between the Lakers and Cavs, Timofey Mozgov’s former Cleveland teammates mobbed him as Coach Tyronn Lue presented the 7’1 center with his championship ring. Midway through the 3rd quarter, his former teammates and Cavs fan thought, “I’m glad he’s not here anymore” after the 7’1 center blew a wide-open dunk. I’m (semi) kidding about the thought but seeing the current LA center blow a dunk while scoring just 2 points on 1 of 6 shooting had to make a few fans in the crowd say, “I’m glad we aren’t paying him $64 million.”
Maybe it was just the excitement from being back home.
“I was really proud to be with this team, it was everything I could ask for,” said Mozgov. “It was a happy memory, and I was excited all night.”
