The month of May hasn’t been kind to “overweight” people. Last week a female CBS Houston blogger was fired for calling a Thunder cheerleader, with a better physique than 99% of the women in the world, “too chunky” to be a NBA cheerleader. Earlier this week, the CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch was under fire for “not wanting fat or ugly” people shopping in his store.
ABC interviewed the “chunky” cheerleader, named Kelsey Williams, about the weight controversy and to be honest there’s nothing that interesting in it. I just wanted to comment that I think it’s pretty ridiculous for anybody, especially somebody from obese Houston, to think Kelsey is overweight or even as Cartman would say “big boned.” But I also don’t think the blogger should of been fired because some oversensitive and most likely insecure women disagreed with a blog post.
If you want to see a “chunky” person at a Thunder game, look no further than the Grizzlies Zach Randolph. Like Kelsey, Zach seems to be doing just fine with those extra pounds that critics want to criticize.
