Adidas Nations Announces Official Roster

(Portland, Ore.) August 3, 2012 – adidas today announced the roster for adidas Nations, as the premier international grassroots basketball program tips off this morning.  Practices, pool play and college counselor games will be held August 3-5 at the Next Level Sports Complex in Garden Grove, Calif., and the championships played at Long Beach City College on Monday, August 6 at 5pmPT/8pmET and broadcast live on CBS Sports Network.

The country’s top-ranked high school players will participate including Chris Walker (Holmes County/Bonifay, FL), Isaiah Hicks (J.F. Webb/Oxford, NC), Isaac Hamilton (St. John Bosco/Los Angeles, CA), Jarell Martin (Madison Prep/Baton Rouge, LA), Jahlil Okafor (Whitney Young/Chicago, IL) and Noah Vonleh (New Hampton/Havermill, MA).  Top-rated players will also represent international teams including Dante Exum (Australia) and Mamadou Ndiaye (Africa).

The world’s elite 18-and-under players from nine international teams including Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, Latin America, US 2013 and US 2014, will train and compete in the prestigious annual program.

In addition to the world-class competition, adidas Nations attendees will receive professional on-court coaching and training, as well as off-court instruction on nutrition, leadership, discipline, philanthropy and global interactions. This will be led with mix of current and former college and NBA players and coaches including Darren Collison (Dallas Mavericks), Arron Afflalo (Denver Nuggets), Nolan Smith (Portland Trail Blazers), Don MacLean (retired NBA) and NBA assistant coaches Kelvin Sampson and Bill Bayno, among others.

The culmination of adidas Nations will feature championship and third place games at Long Beach City College Hall of Champions Gym - 4901 East Carson Street, Long Beach, CA 90808.
