In honor of Damian Lillard winning (by a landslide) the NBA Rookie of the Year award, Adidas released a new version of the Real Deal sneaker and replaced a giant banner of Derrick Rose on the wall of the Adidas Headquarters in Portland with a giant Rookie of the Year banner of Lillard.
Here’s KicksOnFire’s summary of the limited edition “Rookie of the Year” Real Deal Sneakers
First off, the sock liner feature Damian’s Twitter handle, an Oakland satellite print and “9800s” to represent his neighborhood blocks. Draped in Purple and Red, this new version pays homage to the player’s career thus far – Red for high school, Purple for college and Black for the Portland Trail Blazers
The super limited shoe was made specifically for friends & family, with only 510 pairs in production. A few extra are rumored to hit Compound (Portland, Ore), Shoe Palace (Oakland, Calif.) and adidas.com on May 23rd
