The retirement announcement was supposed to come during the summer while playing overseas but the 38 year old Allen Iverson will make a more dramatic announcement during the 76ers home opener against the Miami Heat on the 30th of this month.

Besides the tens of thousands of fans in the stands, one of the biggest applause will be coming from the visiting team. Earlier this week, we found out via ESPN Magazine that Iverson was LeBron James’ second favorite player (behind MJ) so I’m sure LeBron will enjoy being there to congratulate the 2001 MVP and 11 time All-Star on everything he has done over his career.
