Andre Drummond has been such a beast this season that when he “only” put up 12 points and 17 rebounds on Friday, fantasy owners were disappointed. He made up for it on Sunday when he went off for a ridiculous 29 points (season-high) and 27 rebounds against the Blazers. This monstrosity of a stat line is his 3rd 20/20 game in his past 4 games which included a Wilt worthy 25 and 29 performance vs the Pacers.
If his Sunday performance wasn’t sweet enough for fantasy owners and Pistons fans, the Pistons won the game 120-103 despite being down by 18 points in the 3rd quarter – a big shout out has to go to Reggie Jackson and his 26 4th quarter points.
For the season, the 22 year old Dre is now averaging 20.3 points and 20.3 rebounds and is now the active leader in 25/25 games; Al Jefferson and Dwight Howard each have 2. Dre is also averaging 1.8 steals and blocks while shooting .549. Yeah he sucks at free throws (42%) but so did Shaq and Wilt.
“Andre’s numbers are phenomenal” said Coach Van Gundy. “If he didn’t get a rebound the rest of this trip he’d be in the top three or four in rebounding. What he’s doing on the boards is just phenomenal. He was just swallowing the ball up down the stretch.”
