14 offensive boards. 25 in total. Those were Andre Drummond’s Rising Stars Game rebound records that he set during last night’s 142-136 shootout.
“Drummond had in his mind that he was going to go out and play the game hard,” said coach Nate McMillan. Every rebound that came off the board, he wanted. A few of them he took from his teammates, but I liked his aggressiveness.”
He also had 30 points and for his dominating effort he was rewarded with the embarrassment of receiving a broken MVP award.
Actually the award wasn’t broken, for some reason it comes in two pieces. I guess it’s cheaper to make that way and before you start blasting BBVA for being so cheap just remember this trophy that Kevin Durant won from GEICO for winning the HORSE event (thank God the NBA put that Horse out of it’s misery)
Although Drummond won MVP, the story and highlight of the game was the amazing one-on-one duel between Tim Hardaway Jr and Dion Waiters.
