Derrick Rose missed a pretty exceptional performance from Anthony Davis on Monday night. AD had 40 points (14 of 22 fg, 1-1 3pt, 11-12 ft) to go with 18 boards and 3 blocks in just 29 minutes against poor Porzingis, Noah and every other Knick they tried on him.
Down by 22 with a minute left in the 3rd quarter, the Knicks finally found a solution to stopping Davis by fouling him hard, which led to Davis leaving the game early with a hurt hip and Kyle O’Quinn leaving early because of a flagrant foul ejection.
“I’m good. I have a bruised hip,” said Davis. “Going to try to get it right. I have a couple days before I play again, so I’ll get a lot of treatment.”
Carmelo Anthony was also ejected for a league-leading third time for complaining to the refs in the third quarter.
