In the 1st quarter of the Pelicans and Rockets game in China, Anthony Davis slipped while doing a post move against Nene and suffered a right ankle sprain. He tried to re-enter but was taken back to the locker room and according to the Pelicans, will not return. He finished the game with 2 points on 1 of 5 shooting and without his presence the Pelicans are down 34-59 at the half.
Although AD’s ankle injury probably isn’t that serious, it’s another reminder that he can’t stay healthy and has failed to play more than 68 games in any of his first four seasons. The injury that shut him down last season was a left knee and torn labrum in his left shoulder, which has been giving him pain since his rookie campaign.
