London-based animator Richard Swarbrick took a typical NBA Finals history montage with the same footage that we have seen a million times and did something I didn’t think was possible – made them feel fresh again. I felt like I was watching a NBA version of Richard Linklater’s “Waking Life” or “A Scanner Darkly” because of the rotoscope look and feel but thankfully without Keanu Reeves. Speaking of the Matrix star, here’s some random trivia for you. Reeves was originally set to play Billy Hoyle in “White Men Can’t Jump” but his lack of skills made the director replace him.
