Atlanta Crowd Chants “LA Clippers” At Carmelo Anthony During Quadruple OT Thriller
During the first quarter of the Knicks and Hawks Sunday marathon, the Atlanta crowd started chanting “LA Clippers” and “Knicks don’t want you” while Carmelo “is on the trading block” Anthony was shooting a pair of free-throws. After watching him force OT and a second OT on his way to a season-high 45 points, the Atlanta crowd was either speechless or full of grumbles. Luckily for them, Melo fouled out in the 2nd OT and the Hawks (with a little help from the men in stripes) were able to pull out a three-point victory in the fourth OT.
“Those are the overtimes where you’ve got to dig deep,” Said Anthony, who played 46 minutes in one of the worst officiated games in recent memory. “You’re exhausted, you have to find something from somewhere. But to not be out there in that last overtime was a little difficult to watch. Especially knowing the flow of the game. That was a moment I wanted to be out there.”
I think he meant to say, “that was the moment I wanted to be out of there and playing alongside my banana boat buddy CP3.”
