Besides great photos and eventual trading cards, the annual Panini rookie photo shoot always produces a lot of awesome moments usually involving the future NBA players dancing, dunking and roasting each other. Here’s the best and funniest moments from Friday’s photo shoot, including Markelle Fultz showing off his no-look shooting range, Dennis Smith jr showing off his Martin-inspired UA kicks, lots of Lonzo Ball and some retro video games.
As a serious card collector since 1989 — when Hoops released the David Robinson rookie and Panini was just making hockey cards — I have to give a shout out to Panini for keeping the hobby among basketball fans alive. With that said, I still wish there was competition like the 90s, when we had multiple products coming out from Topps, Fleer, Upper Deck, Classic, Hoops and Skybox.
