The CT scan test on Boston Celtic guard Dairis Bertans was negative and he is expected to be “fine” after suffering a nasty collision during the Celtics Wednesday win over the Pistons.

The collision took place with 2 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. Bertans took a hard foul while going to the basket and then went face first into the basket stanchion.  The crowd was silent until he flashed two thumbs up as he was carried away on a stretcher.

“It looked bad. Especially from my angle I knew it was bad.” said Marcus Smart. “He tried to catch himself but it was a little too late for him. They said he’s going to be alright, though. He had a little neck pain, we just didn’t want to take a risk with those. He’s going to be alright, and we’re just going to pray for him.”

“It was sad to see him get hurt because he was playing so well. He’s been playing so well this whole summer league. Prayers to him,” said Phil Pressey
