In a move as shocking as the Orlando Magic drafting Shaq or Cleveland drafting LeBron, the Phoenix Mercury drafted 6’8 dunking phenom Brittney Griner (looking like LeBron with an all-white suit) with the #1 pick in the 2013 WNBA Draft. I”m not sure if this means she’s off the market if Mark Cuban wants to draft her later but I do know this means the 7-27 Mercury will have a big turnaround next season and after the disastrous season the Suns had I wouldn’t be surprised if Lindsey Hunter tries steal her away.

Congrats to Brittney. Ballislife has been following her career since her early high school days in Houston, TX.  Check out these throwback videos from 2009 including a dunk off between her and H-Town’s dunk god Air Up There. She obviously can’t dunk like TJ but with a 7’4” wingspan and a one-arm reach of 9’2” Griner can throw down dunks that I’ve never seen any other woman do…and please don’t bring up Candace Parker until she does a 360.
