A battle for Brooklyn supremacy also featured a duel between NYC’s top 2 players: UConn commit Terrence Samuel (South Shore) and Class of 2014 star Isaiah Whitehead (Lincoln).
Host #5 South Shore HS (Brooklyn, NY) started off hot with a 30-25 halftime lead over #1 ranked Lincoln (Brooklyn, NY). Lincoln (19-4) came back to tie the game before South Shore went on a 9-0 run in the 3rd quarter. Lincoln then went on a 10-0 run capped off by NYC’s top player (#15), junior Isaiah Whitehead.
Several times Whitehead took the ball coast to coast around all five South Shore defenders before scoring.
In the end, the Lincoln Railsplitters knocked off the South Shore Vikings 61 to 58 to win the Brooklyn PSAL AA Division Title.
Lincoln star Isaiah Whitehead led all scorers with 19 points and 11 rebounds and Trevonn Morton hit the game winning three-point shot to put Lincoln over the top for good.
Thanks to all the players, coaches and staff at South Shore HS.
