“How he isn’t an All-Star in our league, shame on us,” Raptors coach Dwane Casey said after Damian Lillard dropped 50 on the Raptors on Friday night. “That young man can score any which way he wants to. Talk about Curry coming across halfcourt and shooting it? This young man can come across halfcourt and shoot it also.”
It is a shame Lillard wasn’t an all-star this season but there’s nothing anyone can do about that. What I think is a shame is Lillard can’t have a good game or hit a crazy shot without people comparing him to Steph Curry. Yes, Curry is having a season for the history books but unless those history books have been revised by the Church of Curry, he’s not the first point guard to have 50 point game and hit near half-court shots.
Anyways, back to Lillard, he scored 22 points – 4 of 7 from downtown- in the final 12 minutes and finished 1 shy of his recently set career-high of 51.
“He’s going to be trouble for all of us for a long period of time,” Casey said.
Lillard joins Geoff Petrie as the only Blazers with 2 50+ games.
First Blazer to score 50 in a loss
First Blazer since Brandon Roy in 2010 to have 3+ 40 point games.
He has the most (9) 30-point games since February 1st.
2nd player with multiple 50+ games this season…you can guess who the other guy is
