Steph Curry – a Knicks killer in the past – was just 5 of 17 against the Knicks and 3 of 11 from downtown during the Warriors 116-95 blowout win on Sunday. So, how were the Knicks so successful against Curry? The answer is 1 word: Melo! OK, i’m kidding, but Carmelo Anthony did his best guarding Curry during a 4th quarter possession – even if it meant scratching Curry with a head palm.
“Some, uh, great defense,” Curry jokingly said about Carmelo Anthony trying to defend him by palming his head. “I’m glad they called a foul, though.”
Curry actually made a 3-pointer on this possession but it was called off.
“I was just putting my hand up,” said Anthony. “I didn’t want him to raise up. Helluva player. I was just trying to figure out a way how you can stop him.”
A way? Memo to Melo: you can’t stop him, you can just hope he’s having an off day.
