Charles Barkley has upset a lot of (big ole’) women for his jokes and comments last week on Inside The NBA about women in San Antonio. Many think Barkley should apologize for his “insensitive” comments and imitation of women eating churros (which are delicious) but that doesn’t look like it’s going to be happening.
On Sunday on Inside the NBA, Barkley looked right into the camera and basically said he will apologize when “hell freezes over.” He also told viewers if they don’t like him or the show then they should just “turn it off.”
I for one am happy to see the Weight Watchers’ spokesman refuse to apologize although I assumed he wasn’t going to. The man who told us over 20 years ago that he’s not a role model didn’t apologize for elbowing a player from another country, throwing a drunk man through a bar window, abusing a rookie Chris Webber by dropping 56 on him in the 1994 playoffs or for arguably the funniest DUI ever.
Via TMZ – According to the officer who wrote the report, “He told me that he ran the stop sign because he was in a hurry to pick up the girl I saw get in the passenger seat.”
The officer continues: “He asked me to admit that she was ‘hot.’ He asked me, ‘You want the truth?’ When I told him I did he said, ‘I was gonna drive around the corner and get a b**w job. He then explained that she had given him a ‘b**w job’ one week earlier and said it was the best one he had ever had in his life.”
Back to the “big ole’ women” that probably didn’t resemble the girl in his backseat, a survey by Gallup last year shows that 31% of San Antonians are obese which is good enough for 2nd place in the US. If that wasn’t bad enough, San Antonio was at 35.1% back in 2010.
It must be the churros!
