I seriously can’t understand why people are taking Barkley’s jokes about fat women in San Antonio, as well as El Paso, Houston, Corpus Christi, Dallas and a bunch of other cities in Texas that are always competing for a top 10 spot on the fattest cities in the US list, so seriously.
He’s already said it’s going to be a cold day in hell before he apologizes and I think that’s even too soon. As I said yesterday on the 21st anniversary of the last game played at the old Spurs arena, if the residents of San Antonio want to be mad at Barkley for something, it should be because of the 28 points, 21 rebounds and game winner that he hit in that game to eliminate the Spurs in the 1993 playoffs.
But here we are with fat people getting mad at a Weight Watchers endorser that went by the nickname of “Round Mound of Rebound” because he cracked a few jokes about women that like to eat (delicious) churros. Atleast most of those people have enough common sense to not confront Charles Barkley about the issue – unlike this radio show host.
I remember back in the 90s when Barkley was arrested for throwing a man through a bar window and when he was questioned about it by the media he said “if you mess with me I’m going to kick your ass.” Luckily for this radio show host, Barkley had his security with him to escort the host away from him before he got his ass kicked.
