Charlie Moore is used to these big games by now. A 4-year varsity player for powerhouse Morgan Park, Moore (Memphis-commit) has catapulted himself to the top of the list of seniors in the state of Illinois. Morgan Park's biggest rival is Simeon (located just north of MP on Vincennes on the city's South Side). Every time these conference foes meet, the gym is soldout and packed to the rafters. Scheduled for Thursday, Dec 10, the game was postponed when an auxiliary basket was stuck over the court, sending fans home from soldout Simeon. On Friday Dec 11, the fans returned and Charlie Moore turned in a signature performance.
Morgan Park prevailed 70-65 and Charlie finished with 27 hard-earned points (7-8 FT) including 7 of his team's 9 fourth quarter points.
You'll also see Simeon's junior point guard Evan Gilyard continuing his equally rapid ascent this season. He finished with 12 points to lead the Wolverines.
