MVP candidates usually don’t end up playing 42 minutes in a preseason game but that’s what MVP candidates Chris Paul did in last night’s OT win over the Nuggets.  To go with his career preseason high in minutes, CP3 scored a career preseason high 40 points to go with his near triple double of 11 assists and 7 rebounds.  25 of Paul’s 40 came after half-time and his layup with 22 seconds left in regulation put the game into OT where the Clips and their jersey with sleeves, outscored the Nugs 14-7.

Paul’s season high in points last season was surprisingly only 33, and despite the addition of a bunch of new scorers, Doc Rivers might be looking for CP3 to take more shots since he is unstoppable to guard 1 on 1.
