TWO turnovers! That’s how many turnovers point God Chris Paul had in his past two games. 34 assists! That’s how many assists Paul had in those two wins. 66 minutes. That’s how many total minutes he played to rack up 41 points, 36 assists, 5 steals and just two turnovers. The cherry on top is he shot 50% from the field and the 3-point line too and Monday’s performance came against Damian Lillard.
I’m not going to take away anything from Russell Westbrook or James Harden – two guys a lot of people (watch “The Jump” video below) believe are the best “point guards” in the league – but Chris Paul’s name should be in every “best point guard” conversation and they should all start this way: “Is (Player) a better point guard than Chris Paul?”
- Chris Paul: 17.9 points, 9.6 assists, 2.5 steals (.462 fg% + 2.2 turnovers)
- Russell Westbrook: 31.1 points, 11 assists, 1.4 steals (.428 fg% + 5.8 turnovers)
- James Harden: 28.1 points, 11.6 assists, 1.6 steals (.438 fg% + 5.6 turnovers)
