Clippers vs. Lakers Preseason Game Recap: Chris Paul Debut
Where do I start.
For fans of highlights: “Lob City” looks like it will live up to it’s name as the Clippers were playing like they were still doing lockout summer games throwing passes off the backboard and alley oops from every which angle. Blake had a couple nice dunks and DeAndre Jordan looked like he was still playing in the Houston lockout game where he was putting on a dunk clinic.
For fantasy basketball fans: There’s a lot to talk about mainly Chris Paul. Injury worries aside, Cp3 is always top 5 material and coming into this year there was a lot of fantasy experts saying he can go as high as 3 and after his 17-7-9-5 line in just 24 minutes you might not get him without a top 3 pick. Billups looked like a good mid round pick with 23 points and 4 of 6 from downtown, DJ was rebounding and blocking shots as expected but Blake is the tough decision. Before this game he was going late 1st and early 2nd in a lot of leagues but with the new additions and an expected big season from DJ a lot of people think Blake could take a drop statistically and his 12 points on 4 of 11 shooting didn’t help his case.
For Kobe fans: Kobe came out on fire looking like he was playing basketball to get his mind off some of the court problems ( I wonder if he has any) but had a scary moment in the 3rd when he went down with a wrist injury. Reports are it’s not serious but don’t be surprised if you don’t see him in the next preseason game.
Me: One person you can expect to be at the next Clippers game (via NBATV) is me. I was on the Blake bandwagon last year and I’m on the Clippers bandwagon this year. Looking forward to sharing my enthusiasm and Lob City clips all year long!
