Via Facebook, Ex Bulls and Lakers player Corie Blount was talking about his first Nike commercial with Michael Jordan called “Frozen” and how he wasn’t willing to get dunked on.
My first Nike Commercial. They wanted me to be the one under the rim and I told them “not me” so they moved me to the front. LOL
Frozen is also one of my favorite Jordan commercials and was made during what I consider Nike’s best era of ads. Many of these ads during this era were directed by David Fincher – director of Fight Club, Social Network, Seven & a few other great films not named Alien 3.
Check the kid at the :27 mark. He does kind of resemble LeBron which makes this commercial extra cool considering LeBron is with Nike and I wont say the rest.
Back to Blount, here’s an interesting video of Corie talking about his life and “changing your life.” Blount served a year in prison for having 11 pounds of marijuana. The judge actually said at the hearing “Cheech and Chong would have had a hard time smoking that much.”
