Damian Lillard had his first career 40 & 10 game against Russell Westbrook, who had his 4th 40-point game, during Tuesday’s OT win over the Thunder. 24 of those 40 for Lillard came off of 3-pointers (many a few feet behind the line) including a 3 to force OT; the clutch shot was reminiscent of his game winner against the Rockets in last yer’s playoffs.
“I was just pointing to the watch,” Lillard said of his celebration after the clutch shot. “That’s ‘Lillard Time.’ That was the first time anybody’s seen that. I was just feeling myself a little bit at the moment.”
Lillard time seems to be the 4th quarter and OT because after his 18 points in the 4th and OT vs the Thunder he’s now averaging a league best 7.4 points in the 4th quarter and OT.
