Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum combined for 58 points on Sunday to help the Blazers rally from a 21 point 2nd half deficit and beat the Utah Jazz in OT.
“We fought our way back at the end of regulation and I said ‘Let’s just win the game,'” said Lillard who scored a game-high 32 points and played 42 minutes on an injured left ankle. “There’s no reason to say ‘All right that’s enough.'”
Lillard wasn’t getting much help from his teammates in the first 3 quartrs and then McCollum caught fire late and scored 18 of his 26 in the 4th and extra session.
“I was more aggressive in the fourth quarter,” McCollum said. “I was being passive. I was playing soft, shooting a lot of jumpers, a lot of threes. So I tried to be more aggressive in the second half. In the fourth quarter, I tried to get to hole.”
McCollum also had a game-high 9 assists.
