With 3:32 seconds left in the Lakers win over the Nuggets on Sunday, D’Angelo Russell got an assist off a tough bucket from Julius Randle to push the lead to 10. The Nuggets called a time-out, Nick Young, Randle and Thomas Robinson celebrated with high-fives and smiles as they walked past Russell and his raised hand.
Before you start with the Nick Young phone jokes, after giving himself a high-five, Russell did get some love from his teammates on the bench and he returned the love with this assist to Nick Young less than a minute later.
A very happy sounding Swaggy also complimented the red-hot Russell (33 points, 16 in the 1st quarter) after the game during an amusing post-game talk about getting buckets, looking good, and having a coach who believes in him.
