“It’s a dream come true, Me and Danny both went through a lot of stuff together. We were guys that showed up two hours before practice started to get shots up and to prove to the coaching staff that we belong, and we’re going to do whatever we need to do to get minutes.” – Undrafted Gary Neal

The Spurs made a NBA Finals record 16 3-pointers in a game 3 win against the Miami Heat and 13 of those shots came from Danny Green (7) and Gary Neal (6).  Journeyman Danny Green’s 7 3-pointers placed him 2nd on the NBA Finals single-game 3’s list along with Mike Miller, Ray Allen, Scottie Pippen and Kenny Smith and behind only the Heat’s Ray Allen who had 8 against the Lakers back in 2010.

The previous team record for 3’s in a Finals game was 14 which was held by three teams.  With that record beaten by 3 it seems unlikely that it will broken anytime soon but then again, the likelihood  of two role players on the Spurs taking over a Finals game against the Miami Heat seemed very unlikely.

So congrats to the role players that had an amazing night but who the hell is Gary Neal again and didn’t Danny Green play for my favorite team?
