Freaking Clippers’ curse! And what’s up with the impatient Kings’ mop guy?
This was supposed to be a play Clippers fans could celebrate: DeAndre Jordan reenacting his infamous 2013 RIP dunk on Brandon Knight with Skal Labissiere playing the role of the murder victim. The alley-oop pass from red-hot Lou Williams was a good one and Skal did touch the ground after the dunk but Jordan also landed on Skal’s foot, causing him to fall to the ground in pain.
He left the game with a left ankle sprain and will possibly become the latest Clipper to miss a stretch of games with an injury. What makes this even more unfortunate is the fact that Jordan rarely misses games; he’s played 80+ games in six of his last seven seasons. He’s also averaging a double-double with his second best rebounding season ever, while shooting a career-high .604 from the free throw line.
Hopefully the upcoming news on his ankle won’t be that bad. In the meantime, let’s try to cheer up by revisiting Jordan’s dunk on Brandon Knight.
