Earlier today LeBron James tweeted a congrats and the hashtag #StriveForGreatness to Chicago Sky Forward Elena Delle Donne for winning the 2015 WNBA MVP award.

“It’s so humbling. It kind of makes me speechless,” Delle Donne said of the tweet. “But all the NBA guys are so supportive of us and the league. We’re friends and we support one another and we respect each other and respect the game. So it means the most when they do something like that.”

Unfortunately a lot of people still don’t have any respect for the league and players like the 26  year old Donne who averaged 23.4 points and 8.4 rebounds a game and scored over 40 twice last season. As evidence, here’s a bunch of lame jokes and ignorant responses on Twitter to the MVP announcement and a video of Donne – being a great sport – reading some “mean tweets” after her historic 45 point night back in June.
