Seeing DeMarcus Cousins get emotional in Sacramento is nothing new; Seeing the recently traded big man get emotional in a way that brings tears, heartbroken smiles and bittersweet joy instead of fines, frowns and frustration are.
“My love for this city will never change.” Cousins said during a small goodbye party in Sacramento. “Every soul in this city matters to me, everything’s the same, I’m just not a King in uniform anymore.
“Which is OK because the love is still there. Even though I’m gone, it will still be the same. I’m still looking out for these kids. Every family in this city matters to me.”
The viral video, captured by KHTK Sports 1140’s Carmichael Dave, even generated a response from Boogie’s All-Star teammate Steph Curry on Twitter.

Dave also answered a few questions about the party and said, “Let’s just say he won’t be exchanging Xmas cards with a few people” when asked if Boogie was pissed at Kings owner Vivek Ranadive.
