DeMarcus Cousin’s “Immaturity” Not Popular at Team USA Practice
“He fouled the s— outta everyone.”
That was what Carmelo Anthony had to say about Kings big man DeMarcus Cousins who is just as known for his maturity level as he is his very scary talent level. DMC’s “maturity” has been a big question mark since draft day due to his relationship with Kentucky coach John Calipari.
USAB President Jerry Colangelo was more specific about DMC’s behavior at the Team USA practice.
“Show respect to players, and you get respect back,” Colangelo said. “He needs to mature as a person, as a player if he’s going to have an outstanding NBA career. So before there’s discussion about him being part of our program, he has a lot of building to do…
“He has a lot of growing up to do.”
Coach Mike Krzyewski tried to put a more positive swing on it.
“His time here, playing in this culture and against these guys, sometimes can have a positive change for the players participating,”
