DeMarcus Cousins Knocks Trash Cans & Mocks Refs After Phantom Foul Call On D Wade’s Missed Dunk
Can someone check on the Kings and Bulls line from Saturday’s game.
With the game tied at 99-99 and 14 seconds left in regulation, DeMarcus Cousins was called for a foul after the refs refused to believe Dwyane Wade would blow a wide-open dunk. Wade would miss his first and then knock down his second for his 13th point of the 4th quarter. After at time-out, Cousins turned the ball over in the final seconds, leading to a bucket by Michael Carter-Williams and a three point win for the Bulls.
A pissed Boogie, who scored a game-high 42 points, took his frustration out on a few trash cans on his way to the locker room. A half-hour later, the media were allowed to talk to Boogie, who mocked the refs by sarcastically clapping and praising them.
“They made the absolute right call,” he said. “Incredible job by the referee crew tonight. I don’t have a complaint in the world. They should get more recognition on how well they ref these games. They don’t get the credit they deserve, so kudos to them. I applaud them.”
When asked about the bad call, Wade said, “Hey, sometimes you get a call, sometimes you don’t. Personally, I haven’t gotten a lot all year, so I’m not gonna apologize for nothing.”
He also tweeted, “Sometimes you eat the bear and sometimes the bear eats you” in a response to Tweet that said, “Dwayne Wade leads a charmed life & I’m not even referring to Gabby Union. How many guys can come up short on a dunk & get bailed out by refs”
