The big story in the Houston Rockets and New Orleans Pelicans game on Thursday was the Pelicans debut of DeMarcus Cousins. He didn’t disappoint, scoring 27 points, grabbing 14 rebounds, dishing out 5 assists, blocking 4 shots and racking up 5 steals. But it was the Rockets debut of Lou Williams that had everybody in Houston buzzing after watching him go off for a team-high 27 on 9 for 16 shooting in just 25 minutes. He was also 7 of 11 from downtown and had two 3s in his first 30 seconds of being a Rocket. So much for getting used to the offense.
The Rockets were also buzzing because they came away with a 30-point victory (129-99) and held the Pelicans to just 39 total points over the 2nd and 3rd quarter.
