After picking up a tech in the first quarter of the Pelican’s loss to the Heat on Wednesday, DeMarcus Cousins is one tech away from missing his second game with his new team due to a a suspension for his total amount of techs.
Boogie’s 19th of the season was called when he pushed Willie Reed out of his way after Reed was called for a personal foul. Reed was replaced by Hassan Whiteside and after Tyler Johnson made the technical free-throw, Boogie was whistled for an offensive foul by running into Whiteside. Boogie did finis the game with 19 points and 9 boards but the Heat took the W behind 20 points and 17 boards from Whiteside.
With 19 techs (so far), Boogie has passed Dwight Howard (18 in 2010/11) and Rasheed Wallace (18 in 2008/09) and only needs 3 more techs to pass Rasheed Wallace’s 21 techs in 2006/07. If you are wondering what Rasheed’s record is for techs, it’s 38 in 2000/2001, but suspensions for techs weren’t given back then.
