He warned you all summer. Even before DeMarcus Cousins was “joking” that he was a shooter during training camp, he was showing off his range in summer exhibition games.  In September, Cousins made 5 3-pointers in a half during the Kentucky vs UNC Alumni Charity Game.  A month before that game, Boogie was on fire from downtown and scored a ridiculous 91 points during Eric Bledsoe’s Back-To-School Charity game.

On Wednesday night against the Clippers – a team Cousins says he “honestly hates” – he connected on 4 of 5 3-pointers on his way to a team-high 32 points. Unfortunately, he also had 8 turnovers before fouling out in the loss.

So the big question is: Is DeMarcus Cousins a legit 3-point threat now?  Well, he only made 1 out of 12 in the preseason and the 4 3-pointers last night matches his best season total which was way back in 2012/13.  I guess we will just have to wait and see but if he does become a threat from 3, then Boogie just might become the scariest player in the league…he might already be that if you consider his temper but i’m talking about just skills.
