I bet you don’t know why new Cleveland Cavs’ guard Deron Williams wore #8 in Utah, New Jersey and Dallas. The reason why is because he wore #5 in college and since he was the third pick in the NBA draft and Carlos Boozer already claimed #5 in Utah, Williams went with 8 (5+3 = 8 for the idiots).
Williams did have the opportunity to wear his college number in New Jersey but out of respect to Jason Kidd, he stuck with #8. As for the Mavs, who knows, who cares and let’s pretend Williams never even went there.
So here we are in Cleveland and what number does he decide to go with? 31! Yes, 3 – 1. I’m assuming you can guess why he went with #31 and why Cleveland fans are loving it.
Actually, I hate to break it to you but 31 is Williams’ high school number.
