Don’t tell the crowd of 20,000+ at the United Center that the Bulls & Pacers game last night was just a preseason game.  Watching Derrick Rose score 32 points and lead the Bulls to victory with 8 points in the final few created a playoff atmosphere and confirmed that the leader was officially back.

“Same old Derrick Rose I remember before the injury,” Pacers coach Frank Vogel said. “He’s special.”

It also didn’t feel like a playoff game because many of the starters for both teams were playing at the end of the intense match-up.

“That was crazy — cheap shots, trash talking,” Taj Gibson said. “I forgot it was a preseason game.”

Preseason or not, it felt good seeing Rose feeling good and if you were hoping to get Rose in the 2nd round of your Fantasy league then you can give those hopes up now.

“It felt good being out there in the fourth,” Rose said. “I felt natural. That’s the way I’ve been playing in practice, not holding back. The extra minutes gave me some reassurance, me knowing my leg is safe.”
