We occasionally get a highlight of a guy jumping over a defender for a dunk but rarely do we get to see the defender jump over the offensive player for a block. On Saturday, freak of nature Justise Winslow did just that in a big performance for Duke. Winslow had 14 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 insane block where he jumped over 6’1 Chasson Randle as he swatted his layup.
“He’s been amazing,” teammate Tyus Jones said. “He can score the ball in so many different ways. Physically gifted, so it’s hard to match up with him. And out in transition, he’s unstoppable. The thing is, he’s been knocking down jump shots. When he’s making those, that makes guys have to respect him, close out, and then that’s when he gets to the cup. It rounds out his game and what he’s improved on the most.”
