2 point game with less than 2 minutes to go and the Lakers’ center is at the free throw line.  It’s a common scene in LA since the days of Hack-A-Shaq and now with Superman2.0 in the building.   Shaq always claimed the hack-a-shaq never worked and he would hit the free throws when it counted (for the most part he was right) but last night the same can’t be said for Dwight.

Dwight airballed a much needed free throw and then clanked the 2nd.  He finished the game 5 of 13 from the line and is now shooting 43.6% from the line in January which lowered his season percentage to 50.

What’s real interesting is the Nick Van Exel approach of shooting the free throw a few inches from behind the line.  Unlike former Laker Nick the Quick, Dwight isn’t clutch and doesn’t have one of the deadliest shots in the game.
