I can’t remember the last time Billboards were such a hot topic in the NBA and we can thank Dwight Howard for that.
During the summer, the Lakers caused some controversy when they put up a big “StayD12” banner at the Staples Center and around LA. Then Raising Cane’s Chicken made some news when they offered Dwight a lifetime amount of free chicken if he signs with the Mavs and then they put up a “Bring Dwight to Big D” billboard in Dallas.
The Houston Rockets ended up winning the Dwight sweepstakes and the city wasted no time putting up a Rockets Superman billboard. Now that Dwight is situated in Houston, the Rockets have come up with a #ANewAge campaign around Dwight, Harden, Lin and Chandler Parsons with new billboards throughout H-Town showing a screaming Dwight and James. Let’s hope during mid-season they are not screaming at each other.
