The NBA leader in 4th quarter points scored 15 of his 32 in the 4th quarter to help the Heat pull out a 108-104 victory over the Portland Trailblazers on Wednesday night.
“This is what I love to do,” said Wade who is averaging 27.5 points per game in March. “This is the fun part of this game. I mean, obviously the last couple years I had to do what I had to do for that team. But now for this team I get to be a little bit back to my usual self, having the ball. I’m not going to do it right every time, but I like my chances most nights.”
This was Wade’s first time getting back to back 30 point games since 2012 and his streak of 7 games with 25+ is the longest he’s had since 2010.
Teammate Hassan Whiteside had the best quote about Wade last night, the past month and for his entire career.
“D-Wade is amazing,” Whiteside said. “Y’all can quote me on that. And that’s it.”
