Ebony Mag Power 100 List: LeBron, Magic, Durant & Anthony Davis make the cut

Published on November 2nd, 2012 by Astramskas, David | 616 views

In the latest issue of Ebony Magazine they compiled a list called the Ebony Power 100 which ranks the most influential African Americans of the past year.  I’m not challenging the list but I can’t wait to read the descriptions explaining why the “influencers and game changers” were ranked where they were.

Four basketball players made the list.  Rookie Anthony Davis made the list without ever playing 1 NBA game and as influential as they think he is I bet he wont be able to influence anybody to intentionally grow or keep a unibrow. Business genius Magic Johnson, as expected, made the list and was joined by LeBron James and Kevin Durant as the other two basketball players.  As great as KD is, I was surprised to see his name  because I don’t think of him as a “influencer” the way I think of LeBron, Magic Johnson and snubbed Michael Jordan and arguably snubbed Kobe Bryant.  After bringing LeBron and Bosh to Miami and leaving Jordan Brand to go with a Chinese shoe company, I would have Dwyane Wade before Durant and Anthony Davis too.

1% Nets owner and executive producer of 2k13 Jay-Z shared the #25 spot with wife Beyonce.
