On Wednesday, the Rockets’ Eric Gordon did what he’s been doing all season-long: come off the bench and knock down a bunch of shots in a short amount of time. Against the (very) short-handed Lakers, he connected on 8 of 12 3-pointers in just 24 minutes. It’s his 7th straight game with at least four 3-pointers; All but one of those games were wins for the Rockets.
“Good as you can make it,” Mike D’Antoni said of Gordon. “I mean, talk about a good sixth man. Oh my gosh, he’s really good.”
So good his 17.1 points per game is second to only 2015 6th Man of the Year and current Laker Lou Williams in points per game off the bench. Considering the Lakers suck and the Rockets are not only playoff bound but becoming a real threat in the West, if Gordon keeps this up he will probably be the favorite to win the 6th Man of the Year award.
As for Lou, he had an impressive 24 points in 25 minutes and a total of 102 points over his last three games.
