During ESPN’s First Take, Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless discussed Reggie Miller saying on the Dan Patrick show that he would take a 30 year old Larry Bird over a 30 year old LeBron. No surprise to anyone, Skip agreed with Reggie but Stephen A. also picked Larry Legend because of Bird’s “intangibles about winning” and clutchness.
I’m not going to say much on this but I will say, as would most who had the pleasure of watching Bird in the 80s on a few occasions, I have to agree with First take hosts.
This debate has come up a few times in the past on the ESPN show and here’s a clip from 2014 of the two debating whether LeBron is better than Bird.
And here’s 2 other outspoken hosts (Bill Simmons and Jalen Rose) on the debate also back in 2014.
